Brief History of the Snake River Stampede

The Rodeo started as a small, local bucking horse competition in the early 1900's. Originally called the Rodeo and Buck Show, the broncos used in the competition were brought in from about 40 miles away, near Horseshoe Bend. In 1937, the Rodeo gained its current name and became an official, professional rodeo competition.
